Our book choice this year is “Learning from Young Children in the Classroom: The Art and Science of Teacher Research” by Daniel Meier and Barbara Henderson.
Have you read it yet?
Debra Murphy and I will be sharing our work in Teacher Research with those of you going to PDI next month. The authors of the book will be our keynote.
This online discussion is a way for all of us in the ACCESS community to discuss various topics and teacher research is it!
I read this book a year or so ago and it has started something. I really feel that teacher research/action research is going to influence my work with associate degree students for a long time to come. This is a skill we can teach our students so that wherever they work, they will be able to implement a reflective practice and learn to make choices in the classroom based on their own objective observations. Isn’t that what we have been trying to teach them all along? It seems to me that this is the most practical way I can help my students to learn those skills.
