ECADA Accreditation: ACCESS Forum for Sharing

How many folks out there are pursuing  NAEYC Early Childhood Associate Degree Accreditation (ECADA)?

How many folks are currently accredited, completing annual reports, and thinking about the re-accreditation process?

How many folks are simply not interested in ECADA accreditation?

At ACCESS, we have spent a great deal of time advocating for the development of the ECADA process. Many members have been involved in this process from the very beginning and, as an organization, we have spent much time over the past few years discussing how ACCESS can support folks as they go through self-study and ongoing accreditation. In many ways the SKiP committee (committee of Shared Knowledge & Practices) was born out of the desire to share practices and resources with each other as we reflect on our work and consider how to make that work visible through an accreditation process.

To continue in this direction, ACCESS would like to invite members to participate in ongoing discussions about the types of practices people employ across the country; practices that are often the highlights of the ECADA self-study. Please keep in mind that ACCESS is NOT the place to go for the most up-to-date information on applying for accreditation, taking the steps through the self-study, planning for the peer review, and other logistical details. ACCESS instead is interested in providing a forum for sharing about accreditation and the kinds of practices you are employing in your setting. Please join us for what will prove to be an informative and perhaps empowering conversation.
